Product Description
The LM48549X Timken is a cone designed for a single-row tapered roller bearing, featuring an inner ring and rollers. When paired with a separate cup (or outer ring), these components create a complete tapered roller bearing capable of absorbing radial and axial forces in one direction. The conical raceways and tapered rollers prevent sliding movements and minimize component wear, although a minimum load is necessary for proper operation. The separable cone and cup make installation and adjustment of axial clearance or preload straightforward. For optimum performance, it is recommended to replace both the cone and cup simultaneously and to use components from the same manufacturer to avoid potential bearing problems.
