Product Description
The H414242 Bower is a removable cone that forms the inner ring and rollers of a single-row tapered roller bearing. When combined with a separately available cup, these parts create a complete tapered roller bearing, capable of absorbing radial and axial forces in one direction. The design of tapered roller bearings prevents sliding movements between the raceways and rollers, minimizing component wear. Proper bearing operation requires a minimum load, and the separable cone and cup allow for easy mounting and adjustment of end play or preload during assembly. For reliable operation, it is recommended to replace the cone and cup together and to use components from the same manufacturer to prevent bearing problems caused by differences in internal profiles, material, and tolerances.
