Product Description
The 617 Timken is a versatile cone designed for a single-row tapered roller bearing, consisting of the inner ring and rollers. When combined with a compatible cup (or outer ring), it forms a complete tapered roller bearing, capable of absorbing radial and axial forces in one direction.
Its unique design ensures minimal component wear by preventing sliding movements between the raceways and rollers, though a minimum load is necessary for proper function. The separable cone and cup allow for easy mounting and the ability to adjust axial clearance or preload during assembly.
For reliable operation, it’s recommended to replace both the cone and cup simultaneously, ideally from the same manufacturer. This minimizes potential bearing problems caused by mismatched components. Always use a matching cup from the same manufacturer when using the 617 Timken cone.
