Product Description
The 51215 FBJ is a type of single direction thrust ball bearing, also known as a ball thrust bearing or axial deep groove ball bearing. It consists of a shaft ring, a housing ring, and a ball and cage assembly, making it suitable for high rotational speeds due to its open design.
These bearings can only handle axial loads in one direction, locking the shaft in place. However, they should not be loaded radially. The shaft ring rotates with the shaft, while the housing ring has a slightly larger bore diameter to allow clearance for the shaft.
As they can be disassembled, the components of thrust ball bearings can be mounted separately. During assembly, it’s important to avoid mixing up the shaft and housing rings. The housing ring of the 51215 FBJ has a flat seat and cannot compensate for misalignment between the shaft and housing.
