Product Description
The 497 Bower is a single-row tapered roller bearing cone, consisting of the inner ring and rollers. When combined with a separate cup (outer ring), it forms a complete tapered roller bearing. The conical raceways and tapered rollers enable the bearing to handle radial and axial forces in one direction without sliding. It requires a minimum load for proper operation and can easily be mounted and adjusted. For reliable performance, it’s recommended to replace the cone and cup together from the same manufacturer to prevent bearing problems due to internal profile, material, or tolerance differences.
