Product Description
The 42683 Timken is a cone designed for use in a single-row tapered roller bearing. It includes the inner ring and rollers, and can be paired with a separately available cup to form a complete bearing. The conical raceways of the inner and outer rings, combined with tapered rollers, allow the bearing to withstand radial and axial forces in one direction. Tapered roller bearings prevent sliding movements and minimize component wear. Proper assembly involves ensuring a minimum load, and the cone and cup can be easily mounted and adjusted for axial clearance or preload. For reliable operation, it’s best to replace both the cone and cup at the same time, and to use components from the same manufacturer to avoid potential bearing problems.
