Product Description
The 3420/QCL7A SKF cup is designed for use with a single-row tapered roller bearing, where it serves as the outer ring. When combined with a separately available cone, it forms a complete tapered roller bearing. The conical raceways on the outer and inner rings, along with conical roller elements, enable the bearing to absorb radial and axial forces in one direction. The design prevents sliding movements between the raceways and rollers, minimizing wear. Proper bearing operation requires a minimum load. The separable cone and cup allow for easy mounting and adjustments to axial clearance or preload during assembly. For reliable operation, it’s best to replace both the cone and cup at the same time, and to use components from the same manufacturer to prevent potential bearing problems. Always pair the 3420/QCL7A SKF cup with a matching cone from the same manufacturer.
