Product Description
Upgrade your single-row tapered roller bearing with the 18685 Timken cone. This detachable cone includes the inner ring and rollers, working in tandem with a compatible cup (sold separately) to form a full tapered roller bearing. Featuring conical raceways on the inner and outer rings, along with tapered rollers, this design enables the bearing to handle radial and axial forces in one direction. The geometry of tapered roller bearings minimizes sliding movements between the raceways and rollers, which reduces component wear. It’s important to note that proper bearing operation requires a minimum load. The separable cone and cup make assembly easy and allow for axial adjustment of end play or preload. For optimal performance, it’s advisable to replace both the cone and cup simultaneously, sourced from the same manufacturer to prevent any compatibility issues. Always pair the 18685 Timken cone with a matching cup from the same manufacturer for seamless operation.
