Product Description
The 14131 Timken is a cone designed for a single-row tapered roller bearing, comprising the inner ring and rollers, working in tandem with a cup (or outer ring) to form a complete tapered roller bearing. Its conical raceways and tapered rollers enable it to absorb radial and axial forces in one direction. The design minimizes sliding movements, reducing wear, although a minimum load is necessary for proper operation. The separable cone and cup make for easy mounting and adjustments in axial clearance or preload. For reliable operation, it’s recommended to replace both cone and cup simultaneously, using components from the same manufacturer to avoid potential bearing problems caused by differences in internal bearing profiles, materials, and tolerances. Always pair the 14131 Timken with a matching cup from the same manufacturer for optimum performance.
