Product Description
The 28138 Timken is a cone designed for a single-row tapered roller bearing. It consists of the inner ring and rollers. When combined with a separately available cup (or outer ring), it forms a complete tapered roller bearing, capable of absorbing radial and axial forces. This design minimizes wear between the raceways and rollers. Proper bearing operation requires a minimum load. The cone and cup are separable and easily mountable, allowing for axial clearance or preload adjustment during assembly. For optimal performance, replace both cone and cup at the same time, and use components from the same manufacturer to avoid bearing problems caused by differences in internal profiles, material, and tolerances. Always match the 28138 Timken with a cup from the same manufacturer.
