Product Description
The 42686 Timken is a cone used in a single-row tapered roller bearing. It consists of the inner ring and rollers and, when paired with a separately available cup, forms a complete bearing. The conical raceways and tapered rollers enable the bearing to absorb radial and axial forces in one direction. Additionally, the design minimizes component wear by preventing sliding movements between the raceways and rollers. It’s important to ensure a minimum load for proper bearing operation, and the separable cone and cup allow for easy mounting and axial adjustment. For reliable operation, it’s recommended to replace both the cone and cup simultaneously, using components from the same manufacturer to prevent bearing problems caused by differences in internal profiles, materials, or tolerances.
