Product Description
The 246X Timken is a cone designed for a single-row tapered roller bearing. It consists of the inner ring and rollers, which, when combined with a separate cup, form a complete tapered roller bearing. This design allows the bearing to withstand radial and axial forces in one direction. Tapered roller bearings minimize component wear by preventing sliding movements between raceways and rollers. It is essential to have a minimum load for proper bearing operation. The separable cone and cup can be easily mounted, and their axial movement allows for adjustment of end play or preload during assembly. For reliable operation, it is recommended to replace both the cone and cup at the same time and use components from the same manufacturer to prevent bearing problems caused by different internal profiles, materials, and tolerances. Always pair the 246X Timken with a matching cup from the same manufacturer.
