Product Description
The 11157 Timken is a versatile cone designed for use in single-row tapered roller bearings. Comprising the inner ring and rollers, this removable cone, when paired with a separate cup (outer ring), forms a complete tapered roller bearing. Featuring conical raceways on both the inner and outer rings and tapered rollers, this design allows the bearing to withstand radial and axial forces in one direction.
The structure of tapered roller bearings minimizes sliding movements between the raceways and rollers, reducing component wear. However, a minimum load is necessary for optimal bearing function. The separable cone and cup enable easy mounting and adjustment of end play (axial clearance) or preload during assembly.
For dependable performance, it is recommended to replace the cone and cup simultaneously, preferably from the same manufacturer to avoid bearing problems caused by internal profile differences, material variations, and tolerances. Always pair the 11157 Timken with a compatible cup from the same manufacturer for optimum results.
