Product Description
The 2688 Timken is a removable cone for a single-row tapered roller bearing, consisting of the inner ring and rollers. When paired with a separately available cup, it forms a complete tapered roller bearing. This design allows the bearing to absorb radial and axial forces in one direction, minimizing component wear. It requires a minimum load for proper operation and offers adjustable end play or preload during assembly. For reliable operation, it’s best to replace the cone and cup together from the same manufacturer to avoid bearing problems.
